Positives: This book falls under the nearly indestructible category as it’s a smaller and chunky board book. The illustrations are simple, bold, and clever. I also love that Kiely has included colors like “brown” and “gray” in addition to the regular colors. Each full page spread has a single color and an object in that color. Orange-car. Red-elephant. Both Fox and Mountain Goat respond to these illustrations and it’s really helped Fox be able to pick out subtleties of hues while we’re out and about. This is probably due to the stripes of various hues running down the side of the pages. It’s like taking home your own strip of paint samples.
Negatives: None. Your home library needs this book! It’s a wonderful beginning colors primer.
