Thanks for visiting us! This site is dedicated to helping you find the best books for your children. We have two of our own: Fox and the Mountain Goat. They love reading and I’ve spent many an internet search looking for good books for them and as gifts for friends. We figured we’d share our findings with you as we grow and learn so you can join our journey and community of stirring up imagination and encouraging our children to be all they can be.
Fox is 3.5 years old and is just on the verge of wanting to read for herself. She’s in a big princess phase, but don’t let that fool you. As I’m sure you’ve found for yourselves, little princesses are also very brave. Fox loves to hike and take off into the woods any chance she gets and some of her first favorite toys were diggers and dump trucks. She’s a little shy and a little sly.
Mountain Goat is 1.5 years old and very much a boy, from what I understand. He likes things big, bright, short, and concise. He likes lights and noises and railroads. But like his sister, he also loves being outside and will follow Fox off the trail so long as he can scamper over rocks and roots at her heels. He’s hard-headed and sure on his feet.
I am a work-from-home mom. As in working when we’re not out on adventures or working through meltdowns (that sentence is a whole blog in and of itself, ha ha). Books and outdoors are our sanity. I know what the hard days are like and what the occasional good days are like. I feel like books are one way to keep the peace around here. And also a way to stir up creativity. That’s something I hope our children always have – the ability to think creatively. I could also spend a whole new blog about my husband, but you’ll probably get to know him a little through these posts too.
As this site takes off, I’d love to hear about this community. Feel free to introduce yourself as well. Here, or on our Facebook page! I’d love to hear about your family and interests!
